Assignment 1 : Knowing Your Architect
In this assignment, we were assigned an architect for our group, which was Renzo Piano
Through this assignment, we are able to identify the distinctive characteristics of him.
Through the five buildings we chose to study on the building construction method and also materials used, we are able to compare and contrasts the various materials used and also some uncommonly seen construction method that is founded by him.
Below are some pages of the Magazine that was done my my group.
Reflection:
In this assignment, I have learnt that
1. Every different construction materials serves their own individual purposes at the same time complementing each other to maximise their functionality and efficiency.
2. I have learn that architects usually have their own favoured construction style or materials used, for example Renzo Piano is fond in skeletal structure and also the Grebrette connections.
3. I understood that materials used and construction method evolved through the times and one material is able to serve more purpose in the current days compared to the olden days.

Reflection: In this assignment, Ive learnt that
1. Basics drawings skills of mine is polished as line weights and the details that I need to include in the drawings is being reminded again.
2. I understood that in a simple component, it is constructed in a way that it connects with the other components of the building where they do not just stand alone.
3. In a simple component, there are many parts that made them up, that connect them together, that uses logical sense towards the living conditions (climate) and the location of the building, as well as the feasibility of getting the materials.
