ASSIGNMENT 2 :
INTERACTIVE SUPPORT POD DESIGN
Based on the understanding of the architect from the previous assignment, this time were to create a POD where exhibition of his works
Were supposed to use the few keywords that have been generated from the visual research, where I did INTERSECT, TRANSFORM AND BALANCE. To design the POD. After a deeper understanding of CJLIM I realised his designs focuses a lot on details, lines and also complicated geometry shapes and forms.
- In my POD design, Ive looked into CJLIM's intricate drawings and got inspiration on some of his overlapping shapes and lines. Ive also included a hanging exhibition on to the LID-ROOF.
-On the base of the POD, I have also included the motion/ movement symbols with some description to make the base more interesting compared to the plain MDF brown colour.
REFLECTION: From this assignment, Ive learnt that
1. CJ LIM is an architect where he can TRANSFORM simple forms and shapes into INTRICATE outlook that is interesting.
2. It is very important to capture what makes up the Architect's work for example in my POD, I had his signature openable LID-ROOF where he exhibited in his various projects.
3. In the boards, I have been reminded of my DCOM classes skills where technical drawings are applied on it. First time using photoshop to compose, I chose the simpler way of rendering instead of any fancy rendering to make sure the lines of my drawing can still be seen clearly.
